Our Lady in Medjugorje does not make catastrophism or psychological terrorism: on the contrary, she came to help us not to fall into the abyss. The secrets are events linked to human realities and direct consequences of the evil actions of men such as hatred, violence, actions that could actually lead humanity to ruin and self-destruction, but Mary’s intervention is precisely aimed at preventing such tragic consequences. It would also be misleading to interpret the secrets in a distressing way, as Marija states: “The events that are the object of the secrets are not inevitable events. They are always conditioned by something. Our Lady says: “This will happen if…”. Our Lady has always said that with prayer and penance we can obtain everything. But Our Lady never threatens punishments. It is men who, by moving away from the truth, by doing evil, prepare very serious catastrophes that are the fruit of the moral perversion of men. With her apparitions, her messages, her advice, she tries to make men reflect so that they understand the abyss they are going towards. Our Lady often repeats: “I adore the freedom that God has granted you”. But she cries seeing how men often use freedom to harm themselves.”
So, even if at first glance the secrets can be a cause for concern for us, in reality they are a manifestation of divine mercy: in many messages Our Lady says that she has come to build with us the new world of peace. This is the point of arrival of Mary’s plan: a better world, more fraternal and closer to God.
The visionary Mirjana also confirms this vision: “I am sure that at the end of the time of the secrets we will see the triumph of the Immaculate Heart of Mary. I will not speak of the secrets, because they are secrets. Everyone has tried, from priests to communists, especially with Jakov who was only nine and a half years old, but they have never managed to understand or know anything. So let’s leave this topic. If it happens, it will be the will of the Lord and we have made this clear. The important thing is that our soul is ready and prepared to find the Lord then we will not have to worry about the future or anything else.
