Our Lady in Medjugorje shows us how to deserve the Kingdom of eternal life

Seer Jakov: What is happening in Medjugorje is God’s plan. God intended it that way.
Our Lady often says in her messages: “Dear children, open your hearts to me.” If we open our hearts to Our Lady and the Lord, each of us will understand why Our Lady comes here. We will understand Our Lady and receive you into our hearts as our Mother. She comes because she is the Mother of us all, because she loves us all and wants to show us the path that leads us to peace, salvation and joy. We can find that way only in His Son Jesus Christ. This is the only reason why Our Lady has been appearing here in Medjugorje for so long.
I was ten years old when the apparitions began. I am the youngest of six seers. Before the apparition, my life was that of a normal child. I lived a simple faith. A ten-year-old child does not have a great experience of faith. He does what his parents teach him. My parents taught me that God and Our Lady exist. They taught me to be good, to go to Holy Mass, to pray. We prayed every night with the family, but I never asked for the gift of seeing Our Lady. I didn’t even know that Our Lady could appear among us. I knew that God and the Virgin existed, but for me they were in heaven and I could only pray.
But everything changed on June 25, 1981. It was the most beautiful day of my life. It is the day god gave me the great grace to see Our Lady. I remember that first meeting with a lot of joy and emotion. The first time we climbed the hill and knelt before Our Lady, I experienced immense joy and peace in my heart… I saw this love in his eyes and felt it in my heart. It was the first moment I experienced Our Lady as my Mother and loved her as such. After this first meeting, we remained in prayer. Although we were children, we realized that we had received something big. We realized that from that moment begins a new life with a lot of responsibility.
We wondered how we could go further and fulfill all of Our Lady’s requests. These questions continued to go around in our heads until Our Lady said to us, “Dear children, open your heart to me. I’ll do the rest myself.” That’s how I realized that I, as a child, can’t do much, but I can say my “Yes” to Our Lady and Jesus Christ and I can put my life in their hands. After that, a new life began for me. I will never be able to thank you enough for the gift I received. But the greatest gift was to know Jesus through Our Lady.
As I have already said, the reason why Our Lady has been coming for “34” (41) years is to take us to Jesus, and she does so through prayer, conversion, peace, fasting and Holy Mass. Our Lady repeatedly invited us to pray in her messages. There were messages in which she said only three words: “Pray, pray, pray.” Every time He calls us to pray, He tells us to do so with our hearts. Our Lady tells us to open our hearts to experience the joy and peace of prayer. No one is obliged to pray, because Our Lady never told us “you must.” But she invites us.
Each of our hearts should feel the need to pray. Prayer must become our daily food. When we pray with our hearts, we get answers to everything we seek in our lives. Therefore, I invite you: start a real pilgrimage here in Medjugorje and cleanse your heart of sins. The first thing we have to do is confess. So that we can begin the pilgrimage with a pure heart. Only with pure hearts can we welcome and live what Our Lady has been calling us to do all these years. Pilgrims often ask me what prayer with the heart is. No one can explain what it is. I know this is a gift that God wants to give to everyone. However, to get it, I have to look for it and wait for it.
Come here for a few days to Medjugorje and listen to various testimonies. It is very beautiful, but the most beautiful thing is to let God speak in our hearts. It means being alone in silence and talking to him. We ask for the gift of opening his heart and praying with joy. Our Lady often calls us to pray in our families and put God first, because she said that nothing can unite a family like common prayer. If God is in the first place, each of our families becomes holy. We must be an example to our children. I am also the father of three children.
I understand that a child is a child of God and as a parent I have a great responsibility towards children. I always remember the words of the late Father Slavko Barbarić, who said: “You parents must put faith in the hearts of your children when the roots of faith are small. Even if these children turn away from God, sooner or later they will return, because what you gave them remains in their hearts.” Every parent has responsibilities. Parents make a mistake, because we give our children a lot of material things, and maybe we don’t spend time on them. Perhaps at that time the child is happy, but the most important and necessary thing is peace and love in the family. See God first in the family.
In many messages, Our Lady invites us to fast. Many people ask, “Why fast?” We have the answer. Our Lady told us: “Dear children, you can achieve everything with prayer and fasting. You can even stop wars. “I often see pilgrims coming here to Medjugorje with many questions and asking for many thanks. They go to many places and ask what they should do. But Our Lady tells us that through prayer and fasting we can achieve everything, and we can also stop wars. We have to start doing that. Our Lady says, “Fast with love in silence.”
We need a publication. We forget all that God has given us, and we also forget all those people who are starving in the world. We always ask God for more. We are looking for things that are not necessary. Our Lady says in the message: “Dear children, you have many things and do many things, but without god’s blessing.” It really is. Each of us may think that we have a lot, that we are happy, but if I don’t put God first in my life and if I don’t have His blessing, I have nothing. I am not happy and never will be.
You don’t come to Medjugorje for six seers. None of us is holy. We are people like you. We want and will be saints. We too are called to holiness, but we are like all of you. Do not come here to Medjugorje looking for any sign, such as the return of the sun. Even during Holy Mass I sometimes see pilgrims looking at the sun for a sign. But the greatest sign that God has left us is in the Holy Mass, Jesus on earth. The biggest sign you can experience here in Medjugorje is to change your life. Conversion. It is important to start a new life with Our Lady and God.
Pilgrims often ask me, “What is Our Lady like?” I see her as a normal person. How I see them all now. The lady has a gray dress, white veil, blue eyes, black hair. This is what can be expressed in our words. The rest is hard to express. I experience the beauty of Our Lady during the apparitions in my heart. I remember when we were little, we would ask her, “How is it possible that you are so beautiful?” Smiling, she replied, “Dear children, I am beautiful because I love.” To be beautiful, you must also love.”
Pilgrims here in Medjugorje want to know something about the secrets. When we think of secrets, we immediately imagine bad things like disasters or wars, but we must follow what Our Lady says: “Don’t think in secrets, but pray.” The greatest secret of our lives must be to always be prepared to stand before God. God can call us whenever He wants. We don’t know when. Are we ready to come before Him? This is a great question. When I wake up in the morning and see that I am alive and here on earth, my first words are thank you. I thank God for the gift that I am still here on earth, because it is a new opportunity to be better, to deserve the Kingdom of eternal life.
